EXECUTIVE CLUB
Today's Executive Club is for anyone who wishes to grow in mind and spirit through fellowship, education and discourse, and support the YMCA mission in the Princeton region. All are welcome.
2009 Executive Club Dinner

The 48th annual Executive Club dinner on May 21 featured Juan Williams noted political analyst, journalist and author regularly featured on National Public Radio and Fox News Channel.
The Executive Club was founded in 1961 when local civic, business and community leaders determined that a forum was needed to promote fellowship and encourage financial support for the YMCA. Each year, a guest speaker has been invited to talk about an issue of the day and participants have shared in a lively evening of discourse and conversation over dinner.
Today, the tradition endures and the conversations continue. Proceeds from the evening are used to support the YMCA's financial assistance program which benefits local children and families in need and ensures that YMCA programs are available to all who wish to participate.
Executive Club sponsored
Essay Contest for Eighth-graders
Eighth graders were invited to submit entries for the Executive Club's first annual essay contest centering on one of the YMCA's four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA has been committed to character development since its earliest days, and the essay contest is intended to prompt thought among young people about moral and ethical questions, and be an exercise that strengthens spirit and mind.
This inaugural year, the value of responsibility was highlighted. Essays were judged by a panel of volunteers on the basis of originality, creativity, style, logic, tone, grammar and punctuation. The winning essay "The Community Kid" was read by its author, Anna Verhaegen, Stuart Country Day School, at the Executive Club dinner on Thursday, May 21 and a $500 savings bond was presented her as the grand prize.

Receiving honorable mentions for their essays were Lindsay Eberhart, John Witherspoon Middle School and Alexa Rangecroft, Stuart Country Day School.
