A Remembrance of Jim Fitzpatrick
At the Princeton Family YMCA, we are deeply saddened by the loss of our good friend and supporter, valued advisor and tireless advocate Jim Fitzpatrick who died on April 29, 2016 after an extraordinary 92 years here on this earth. Jim personified the mission of the Y - in his compassion for others, his profound faith in God and all humanity, and his belief that given opportunities, nurturing, education and resources, individuals will rise to be their best selves. Brilliant and funny, lively and caring, Jim relished good storytelling, intelligence, humility, and service to others. We are grateful that Jim and his equally wonderful wife Nancye gave us the privilege of honoring them with the Jim and Nancye Fitzpatrick Wellness Center. We will remember him in our heart always and celebrate his life in our continued commitment to delivering the YMCA mission in Princeton.
"Gratitude holds a cornucopia
Of wonder, humility, hope,
wisdom, respect, trust,
strength, joy, grace, and peace."

As you may be aware, the missions of the YMCA and YWCA - two separate national organizations - have developed and expanded over time. As a result, the Princeton Family YMCA and the YWCA Princeton have found themselves with a few similar services in overlapping facilities, which can be confusing.

The YMCA has been central to the Princeton community for over 100 years, enriching the lives of countless children, adults and families who consider the Y their home-away-from-home. The Y is committed to offering a friendly, welcoming environment with a variety of options to suit your lifestyle. Also, at the Y, every dollar you spend here is reinvested directly into the community, helping to strenghen its foundations and the connections among us.
Support the Princeton Family YMCA's Annual Campaign!
Each year the Princeton Family YMCA positively affects the lives of well over 6,000 people, including 3,000 local youth and teens. By meeting critical community needs - through encouraging kids to participate in fun physical activity, helping them develop the skills and confidence to make smart choices, and giving them the support they need to be successful, the YMCA is helping children and teens develop to their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body. The Y is a place for children to laugh, learn and grow in an environment of caring, safety and support, and we're proud that here the character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility guide all that we do.
